The SWEET programme is led by academics from Newcastle University and Oxford Brookes University who are experts in cancer survivorship research and adherence to hormone therapy.
The wider research team involves several other Universities and NHS Hospital Trusts and includes patient representatives, breast cancer specialists (surgeons, oncologists, nurses, dietician), a GP, a pharmacist, psychologists and researchers with expertise in breast cancer studies, running trials, statistics and health economics.

Our patient advisory group (The PAG) is made up of 11 women who have been prescribed hormone therapy for breast cancer. They have been, and continue to be, actively involved throughout the research programme, including developing design and content of the support package, testing usability, advising on patient-facing materials, reviewing questionnaires, reviewing emerging findings, and contributing to dissemination.

PAG co-chair
Sharing my experiences with PAG members and researchers, to create the HT&Me website, is important. I hope it will benefit future patients taking hormone therapy.

PAG co-chair
I am a breast cancer patient. I strongly believe that women deserve better tools to support them navigate their endocrine therapy and improve their quality of life.
Akos Adu
As a breast cancer survivor, I know how important it is to have comprehensive help available easily. It is absolutely useful in supporting our health journey.
Jan Backhouse
Having run breast support groups, I have met many ladies unable to get appropriate hormone therapy support. A website like HT&Me is an oasis in the desert, and will be valued!
Sue Bailey
I am a breast cancer patient. By being part of the SWEET PAG I hope we have improved the support available and health outcomes for other women taking hormone therapy.
Birgit Cloos
I have had breast cancer and I am a healthcare professional. I would like to support women who are on endocrine therapy and contribute with my experience and knowledge.
Jane Coogan
Having had breast cancer, I know the importance of taking hormone therapy. I hope my participation will help patients make informed choices.
Rosemary Dooley
I have had breast cancer and struggled with severe endocrine therapy side effects. I feel my experience has enabled me to help others through contributing to this research.
Helen Howitt
After 30 years in Clinical Research I wanted to give back after my own diagnosis, having learnt how critical supporting patients with their medication is.
Adrienne Morgan
I might not have retired if this resource had been available after my diagnosis in 2005 - insomnia, hot flushes, sexual dysfunction! I am so proud to be part of the team.
Plus one more member who chose not to be included on the SWEET public website.
Our Community of Interest is made up of a group of 28 women who have previously had breast cancer and have been prescribed hormone therapy. They advise us on an ad hoc basis, via email, on a range of topics based on their real-life experience which have helped to inform the HT&Me support package.
